Dr. Rosenthal is the C. Boyden Gray Professor of Health Economics and Policy at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Rosenthal’s principal research interests revolve around economic incentives that influence consumer and provider health care decisions. Her other substantive interests include the pharmaceutical industry, mental health policy, and the economics of smoking. She has conducted research on a wide variety of health economics topics, with a focus on the financing and organization of the U.S. health care system. Specific topics she has studied include the effect of payment incentives on provider behavior, prescription drug policy, and advertising of prescription drugs. She has published more than 150 peer reviewed journal articles, essays, and book chapters.
